According to Burberry’s chief creative officer Christopher Bailey, who says that the team is incredibly excited to be the one, who is going to present its next menswear collection in London, the city, which they consider as the creative heart of the brand. “The country’s proud menswear heritage and outstanding contemporary talent give it a unique and powerful energy. It is a wonderful time to be bringing our menswear show home.” – he adds.

Let me remind you a little about Burberry’s history. It was founded in early 1856 by Thomas Burberry. He was a former draper’s apprentice. He opened his own store in Basingstoke Hampshire, England. First, the business had established itself by focusing on the development of outdoors attire. Later, Thomas Burberry introduced the gabardine, a hardwearing, water-resistant yet breathable fabric.

From the very beginning Burberry was the original name for the brand, but then many customers from around the world began calling it Burberrys of London. Now, officially it’s called Burberry Prorsum, but still known for people around the world to be famous as London’s best clothing makers.

Burberry has supported London Collection: Men, since its inauguration. When it showcased in June 2012, the brand have been hosting events to promote menswear in its store, named Knightsbridge.

The fastest growing category in the first half of 2012-2013 was the menswear line. Now, the brand is standing on the pedestal of being the best of the best and not only in producing menswear, but in general, along with such names like Tom Ford and Alexander McQueen, who are also an integrant as  part of London Collection: Men.
