Frida Giannini tried to incorporate the components like the perfect tailoring, high end fabrics and subdued tones in this fall 2013 menswear collection by Gucci. But one component is missing- Giannini avoided bow ties in this particular collection, instead she teamed the herringbone, houndstooths and flannels with the mohair jumpers and knitted polos with the open neckline.

I would call it as one of the most seducing way of expressing the casual style. Even the restrained neck was not a hinder to the designer, Giannini presented the accompanying tuxedo made from tweed.

Even though the entire collection is performed in accordance with the strict sartorial principles similar to the military ones, Giannini managed to add the playful vibe to it. Garments made from the somber canvas in the black and gray hues were deluted with the tweed jacket in the bold red, suit in the bright hues and a peacoat in the pea green.

Taking the inspiration from the ancient looks of the Mitteleuropäische military academy, Giannini included in this menswear collection the cadets’ jackets in the powder blue and white gamma, baggy officers’ coats that made a splash this season both in women’s and men’s fashion. As for the footwear, it was also clearly seen the military influence.
